Well I was suspected about the price but after buy it, it worked a lot everything is inside and I suggest you all :)
Ive been using Ultralinga for years now and it was one of the applications I missed the most when I gave up my Treo for my iPhone. Ive been PRAYING that Ultralingua have an app someday for the iPhone. The conjugator is great and the upgrades have always been spot on.
However... $30 BUCKS!!! As much as I love Ultralingua, I have to think that somebody will come up with a similiar application at a price equal to most of the iPhone applications. Sorry Ultra, but Ill jump ship in a heartbeat.
i bought this even though it was a little expensive. i hope it gets an update and when it does, the words are read to u, because that would make learning this a lot easier
Yes, I admit that I would like the price to be lower as well, but I think for $20, this application has plenty of features to make me happy.
I travel on the airplane a lot and so the offline access is very valuable for me. The ability to lookup for words in the airplane without having to bring an additional paper dictionary is a wonderful thing. And some of the places that I travel do not necessary have the wifi or the data access (e.g. when I am not in the US). The app is better than the online dictionary since I could look up the word faster via the search without having to wait for the response to come back from the server. The integrated conjugation is a welcome addition though I would like to be able to look all type of tenses without having to tap the type of tenses that I want to see.
This little app is awesome and definitely worth the money! Look up a word, tap the desired verb to conjugate - a much faster process than using a paper dictionary. Just think how much money youve paid for your books that take forever to flip through!
If youre a serious student or a scholar, I cant tell you how much time and effort you will save! I now dont have to carry half the books to my Italian lesson, this is incredible! Get this thing now, you wont regret it!
Some bad moments
I live in Italy and was hoping for a decent dictionary, especially for the steep price tag.
This is not. I have yet to find a word that I have searched for. Do not bother.
For twenty dollars, I was expecting this to be my main dictionary, but Im still left dry on many words. Increase the vocab a bit and this would be worth it. Other than that, I like it.
Review of version 1.1
Well, my Italian fiancée visited me for the holidays so I purchased this App for those times when we needed clarification. Unfortunately, it was only marginally useful as it found less than 25-percent of the words we entered.
I see the developer offers a larger and more full-featured (6.1mb vs. 1.9mb) offering, although I don’t feel inclined to pay another 25-bucks on top of the $19.99 already invested. I’ll hold off until another variant from another vendor comes along.

This is a disappointing program ... about a third of the simple everyday words one looks up -- words like "afford" -- arent in the dictionary. I get better results from the FREE translation program I downloaded than I do from this. Its the worst value of any iPhone program I have.
Very disappointing. Not easy to use. Many common words missing. Compares unfavorably with Larousse French English dictionary available for one-third the price.
I have Ultralinguas French ap, and I use it frequently. So I expected the Italian ap to be similar. There are many gaps in the word bank in this ap. For example, key words related to current technologies are not to be found, including email and software. Even if the Italian equivalents are cognates, they should be included. These are just two examples of many that I have found to be missing. Disappointed!
